Leader of the #OpenPrinting project since it was founded in 2001, introduced the CUPS printing system in Mandrake Linux in 2000 working at MandrakeSoft and with this and a lot of evangelism (booths, talks, tutorials) made the other distros also switch to CUPS, since 2006 printing maintainer at Canonical, co-organizing annual meetings with the Printer Working Group (PWG), since 2008 every year mentoring in Google Summer of Code, doing everything to make printing on Linux and similar "just work".
To make the Opportunity Open Source 3.0 in the IIT Kanpur, India, on Sep 5-7 not only a great event but an amazing one we need sponsors.

We accept proposals up to the conference dates, but we already start accepting and scheduling
@sjvn But the real reason to move to Linux is the 2025 one, where you move the files which you do not want any more into the (public) cloud ...

I'm curious: you characterize the EU #CRA as requiring #SBOM's *specifically*. I know the License Compliance Industrial Complex wants it to be true, but I researched this issue for my #FOSDEM 2025 talk…

… & IIUC CRA *doesn't* specify SBOMs specifically.
IMO, if the vendor gives the customer complete, Corresponding Source & a 100% @reproducible_builds they've complied with CRA. No one has shown me anything that disproves that.
