When Elon Musk allowed the Neo-Nazis who had incited people to threaten to kill me back on Twitter, it was personal. (I sued the Nazis and won but we knew they had no no $-the lawsuit was about sending a message we won't be silent in the face of hate.) It was clear that Musk's goal was  to normalize Neo-Nazis because he believed it would entice more of MAGA to support Twitter. Musk is vile. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/all/neo-nazi-website-hit-4-1-million-defamation-penalty-n1016886
Neo-Nazi website hit with $4.1 million defamation penalty

I remember arguing with young Bernie Sanders supporters about how it wasn't helpful for them or for Bernie to keep tearing down Hillary Clinton. One of my arguments was that a GOP pres would appoint reactionary SCOTUS judges, which would ultimately affect them more than us oldsters. Now I hope that they realize the consequences of not voting, or voting for a candidate who has no chance. Maybe that's cynical of me, but it's not about individual principles or "purity" anymore--elections are about keeping our civil rights and improving the country over the long term. Any vote for a GOP'er, or a non-vote, is a vote to send this country spiraling into fascism.

A gen-Z told me today that his generation has largely accepted that they live in a plutocracy, everything is corrupt, and the Musks, Zuckerbergs, and Trumps are just a fact of existence. They accept it as SOP. It's pretty dark, and exactly what GOP wants them to feel: totally hopeless and disinterested in voting. If they let that despair keep them from voting in 2024, they will learn the hard way just how much more there was and is to lose. We need to change their minds. For their sakes.

A reasonable rule of thumb in UK #politcs is that if the Tax Payers Alliance doesn't like something, then it would likely benefit society;

to hear that they are against the four day #working week, leads me to think that the shadowy (corporate?) funders of the TPA are unhappy that #workers might be able to spend a little more time thinking about the inequities of the current system & a little less time being ground down by the world of #work.

Useful tweet from Mark Maslin:

'The Seven Stages of climate denial:

1. It's not real
2. It's not us
3. It's not that bad
4. We have time
5. It's too expensive to fix
6. Here's a fake solution
7. It's too late: you should have warned us earlier

Trolls use all of these stages to deny reality of #climatechange'
