@sommer I think this ties well with your own post from a few days ago on being willing to ask for others to explain things, which can then help fuel that confidence building while outside your comfort zone.
Me, 14 years into my career, all the freakin' time at work: "So I have no idea what that means. Could you explain it and/or show me where I can learn more? Thanks!" I love seeing other managers and leaders do this too. While I believe it's important for me to know my work/field well, it's also important for me to know what I need to know, ask when I don't know, trust in the expertise of others when needed, and make sound/informed decisions whenever possible.
I do not know how the legal wording would need to function, but my general take on the solution is that OS manufacturers must allow the arbitrary installation/execution of applications/code on their platforms. It's just the "phones need to have install capabilities like long time desktop OSs have."
You can have an App Store, but developers must legally be allowed direct installation and contact with users, end of story.
