Terrible news regarding the DDoS on the Internet Archive. Here's the last resource I downloaded yesterday. Antiquities of Mexico, paintings & hieroglyphics, possibly Mayan? Will be using Adobe Illustrator to repurpose/remix. Hopefully Archive will be back avaialbel soon. #Archive #Mexican #hieroglyphics
Congratulations to the British Library on Restoring access to 1000 of the digitised manuscripts. These are magnificent. I can spend hours study and enjoying these. The level of detail is astonishing. Shame about the UK rights? "Public Domain in most countries, other than the UK." With no download option available, to rely on screen captures to use, is a rather sad state of affairs.
Looking around Archive.org and checking out some of the 78 rpm records from their collection. Each one a beautiful design with intricate lettering and a colourful pictorial of logos. I can't tell you how many times an invite, email, blog post, random bit of social media content goes out with some kind of unattributed lovely art.
CREDIT ARTISTS. ON EVERYTHING. It's easy. And if we normalized crediting enough, the generated images would stand out on their own for absence of credit.
