Our company really needs something like the Framework laptop. I would love to have a shelf of parts here and just swap out the broken bits, or a mainboard with an upgraded chip and send people on their way. The goal of a laptop should be that it ends up in a ship of Theseus situation where parts get swapped out for such a long time that eventually it's a new machine but at such a gradual rate that it's sustainable. We shouldn't need to replace an entire rig so darn often.

Wow, this is awesome, awesome news. Not only can you have a spare charged up if it's user replaceable, you also don't have to get out the iOpener to fix it! (H/T to Ifixit!). Surely no company will muddle the term "user replaceable battery" into being some BS version that isn't really user replaceable the way we think of like an old Nokia....Apple? Looking at you.
