"It will create jobs and bring investment to the town" has to be the most short-sighted reason for opening a new #CoalMine in Cumbria. Do they not care that their own children and grandchildren will suffer the consequences of #ClimateCrisis? We have to do absolutely everything we urgently can to reach #NetZero. And saying its different because it's coke for steelworks, well that's just corporate #GasLighting. Shame on any news channel that presents a #BalancedView on something so indefensible.

I was talking with a man this week who currently lives in a hotel with his young family.
He told me that in his home country he was a teacher but also helped at a charity which supported refugees, giving out food, clothes, essentials.
Never in a million years did he think he himself would need to seek asylum.
"There but for the grace of God" goes any one of us.
No one is illegal. To seek asylum is a human right.
