I have recently noticed that fair trade tea is over twice the price of tea that isn't labelled as fair trade.
I wouldn't mind paying the extra if I thought it was going to make lives better for tea farmers and their families in developing countries, but I'm sceptical.
Is that where the extra money goes, or do tea manufacturers just charge a huge premium because they think the name "fair trade" is something people will pay for and it just goes to their profits?
