@paul I’ve had 2 100W USB-C cables from Anker not be able to supply reliable power. Cables from UGREEN in the same brick work great. I personally don’t see a reason to use Anker cables.

This month my search costs tripled and my “no results” rate jumped to 97%. Nearly all the search traffic is coming from Microsoft, and tons of queries are completely unrelated to my service. Best I can guess this is Copilot. It seems to be using my engine as a source whenever it classifies a query as gaming-related.

So I added a referer requirement, and that stopped the traffic. Though it’s trivial to defeat if somebody wants to.

@marcoarment What did you order? I’m kind of regretting my purchase. This is my saddle brown case after 8 months. It’s just a dark sludge brown now. I don’t expect it to look new, and I get that patina is thing, but this is *so* far from new that I probably won’t order another.

@parcel Can the new app run on older releases, or is it exclusive to Tahoe? Not a critique, just curious because I’m debating skipping Tahoe due to how bad Liquid Glass is.

Totally whelmed by today’s Apple event, as usual. Actually fell asleep during part of it. Replacing the $1000 iPhone with one that has no battery life is a bold move. Base pro prices essentially go up, since the old base is gone. It may be the same for somebody already buying a 256GB, but it’s not for somebody who buys the base pro.

As I expected going into it, I’m not compelled to buy.

With Liquid Glass coming to macOS, this is the first time I’ve ever considered not updating. My fear is that’s not a long term strategy. If Apple doesn’t rein it in next release, am I willing to be two updates behind? Three?

@marcoarment I know. I used to buy the new phone every year, not because I had any particular need, but because I like to. I’m feeling the itch to upgrade my MBP on the next refresh too. But I’m holding off purchases as long as I possibly can now.

I can’t tell if Cook is a true Trump fan or just playing the game to avoid problems Trump could cause Apple, but it doesn’t really matter. Don’t comply in advance.

@paul Sounds kind of like Dead by Daylight, but I could imagine a game where you are Death setting up your elaborate Rube Goldberg machine, hit play, and watch the result. Kind of like Lemmings, but you’re trying to kill them instead of save them.
