The amount of cultural capital afforded to Jensen Huang is unbelievable. I just saw a BI article calling him a food influencer because someone saw him at a night market. I swear, if I was rich and had a leather jacket, I could single-handedly save Redbones.

Doxy was the first song I played in my middle school jazz band, one of the most formative experiences of my life. My brother would constantly play St Thomas while warming up for shows. RIP to one of the greats. 95 years is an incredible run.

It has been six years since George Floyd was killed by a racist police officer. We must honor his life by ending qualified immunity so no more police officers can kill people without consequences.

The White House is ordering agencies to place its new app on all employees’ government phones

The newly created, often overtly political app places the Trump administration into unprecedented and “dangerous” territory, IT experts say.

#Signalapp doesn't actually delete messages when they're deleted (either manually or by automation). The message deletion is written to Write-ahead Log, and the data is only truly deleted once Signal is restarted or threshold of 1000 pages is reached. For macOS Signal application, extra complication arises from the fact that the signal message database can be backed up before the database consolidation occurs. Large amount of the supposedly already deleted messages could be recovered from the device or backups.

This concerns use cases where deleting messages actually getting removed in timely manner is of high importance and recovery of the deleted messages could lead to grave consequences.

TL;DR: If you don't care about deleted messages being actually deleted you don't need to worry.

This company has an army of employees trained in electrophysiology but somehow can't draw a proper (or consistent!) ECG waveform on its internal materials.
Going through our annual quality training program today. The slides have a ECG animation running throughout. It's very wrong, and it's driving me *nuts*.

My new boss told us that we can all WFH today because of the heat advisory. It'd be a lovely sentiment but for

1. The excellent new AC system we have in the office

2. The fact that we were all in the office already when he told us. Especially because I biked to work today.
