My presentation about native #Linux desktop app development with #Gtk and #python went well yesterday.
Here are some nice resources I mentioned at the end of my talk:
I'm planning to either write a small tutorial or blog about this or record a video tutorial.
#Helsinki Python community felt nice!
I'm looking for a standard way to develop GTK-based apps on #Linux but haven't figured it out yet. I found the Workbench app but don't understand how to use it.
I also tried prototyping an idea using #Python and the #GTK library with Claude, but still haven't found a solid approach to build the foundation.
Wow, I just stumbled upon nn.labml.ai recently, and I have to say, it's been incredibly helpful! I'm really impressed with how they've put together this collection of annotated PyTorch implementations of neural networks and various machine learning algorithms.
It's not just a repository of code; the side-by-side explanations are fantastic for understanding the logic behind everything.
Definitely a resource I wish I had found sooner!
I developed a local app to monitor development environments! It tracks memory usage and features start, stop, and restart process buttons with highlighted logs. Built with #python and using #gtk 4.0 for the GUI.
What are some recommended #coding or design standards for creating a GTK 4.0 #app on #linux or other platforms? Any suggestions or examples would be appreciated!
Just discovered the Pipeline App on FlatHub today! It's awesome for watching videos from YouTube or PeerTube by importing subscriptions from YouTube or NewPipe. 📹 But facing a 500 server error after startup. Hoping it stabilizes soon or maybe it's something with my system.#linux #flathub
