I am an artist working in a bunch of different mediums & combinations thereof --> collage, gouache, mixed media, altered books, drawing. I've been blogging @ Daisy Yellow for past 15 yrs.

We have a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Indigo and a garden dreadfully in need of pruning. I love a witty portmanteau.

Recently I’ve brought flowers home with me from my community garden, the last remnants of this summer. And what better way is there to celebrate these flowers than to sketch them. I found dahlias and borage, two very different but attractive plants, and so interesting to draw.

Three good things {yesterday edition}:
1︎⃣ Reading progress in 2 books (does anyone else read several books at once?)
2︎⃣ Did my annual art supply purchase where I get most of what I need, including watercolor paper in various configurations, replenishing a few gouache tubes, etc.
3︎⃣ Antibiotics

A little sampler I made as an ink reference for myself. Twelve delightful fountain pen inks for mark-making & lettering including this pairing:
🍊 Sailor Shikiori Kin-Mokusei
🍐 J. Herbin Vert Pré

The little book was made by stitching together watercolor paper. It's very tiny!

If you'd like to see all of the inks I posted over at https://daisyyellowart.com/vividlife/12-delightful-inks-markmaking

12 delightful fountain pen inks for mark-making

This was one of the potential projects I rehearsed before the start of Inktober, because I wasn’t sure where I wanted to focus my energy. Here’s the first booklet I filled — a quick (and instantly gratifying) project! Sewed a stack of cute booklets to house ink explorations & experiments
