Nishikifuji
Rank: Maegashira 12 West
Record: 5-10
Grade: D-
Yet another disaster of a top division tournament for Nishikifuji. He'll be back in juryo too for the next tournament. Nishikifuji's lack of strength was telling this tournament, as wrestlers of all shapes and sizes were able to bully him across the ring.
Mitoryu
Rank: Maegashira 13 East
Record: 2-9-4
Grade: D
It was a tournament to forget for Mitoryu, who went out injured on Day 11. A lack of mobility and activity meant Mitoryu was often on the back foot in his bouts. He'll be back to juryo in Nagoya.
Churanoumi
Rank: Maegashira 13 West
Record: 8-7
Grade: C
Churanoumi continues to tread water in the low maegashira ranks. He's undersized, but makes up for it with speed and decent strength. His defense is especially good, both in the clinch and on the move.
Ryuden
Rank: Maegashira 14 East
Record: 10-5
Grade: B
Ryuden scored a nice record, on paper, in May. However, this is typical of him when he competes this far down the rankings. He looked more mobile than usual this tournament, but will likely be exposed in Nagoya once he's promoted up a few spots.
Oshoma
Rank: Maegashira 14 West
Record: 10-5 (Fighting Spirit Prize)
Grade: B+
Very impressive debut makuuchi tournament for Oshoma. He looked very strong with his hands, able to push and pull opponents around with his front and rear belt grips. His thrusts were also very powerful and set up good opportunities for slap downs.

Tokihayate
Rank: Maegashira 15 East
Record: 6-9
Grade: D+
Not a great record for Tokihayate in his debut makuuchi basho, but there were some promising signs. He has the speed and grappling down, just could use more muscle.
Roga
Rank: Maegashira 15 West
Record: 7-8
Grade: D
Roga continued to struggle to find his footing in the makuuchi. His two best wins were henka over Ryuden and Hokutofuji. He may need to do that more often if he wants kachi-koshi at this level.
