I really dislike this sort of thing about #duolingo. Do you think I have a 1043 streak through ambition alone? This - and the competitive nature to learning, why do they need leagues? - negatively feeds into my neurodivergency, and I know that's the case but likewise I can't just stop. This is why #gamification feels so predatory to me. I get that everybody isn't the same, so they're unaffected - and it's supposed to be a funny notification - but it just sucks, you know.
