I've talked to ~100 developers across a wide range of organisations over the last 6 months about what they're *really* doing with "AI" coding assistants.

I wouldn't worry about being "left behind". On software that matters, most folks are barely using it at all. And, so far, nobody I've spoken to is doing any of that advanced "agentic" stuff in their day jobs.

Presumably because there are big potential consequences if their software breaks or leaks data.

@michaeldorner what is your experience? Are your students taking more bathroom breaks? 😉 Also, I don‘t see them scoring better on our exams in general, on the contrary. That likely has something to do with LLMs as well 😕

@michaeldorner I‘m not too worried about the occasional bathroom break, even if they would take their phones with them and look something up. Maybe they can memorize the solution of one or two questions, but our exams are usually 120 minutes long, so way too much to memorize 🙂

@ghost_letters @javahippie Schweizer hier: es ist ziemlich flexibel, du kannst deinen Kontakten (mit Mobilnummer verknüpft) instant Geld senden, per QR-Code im Hofladen, in Onlineshops aber auch an allen normalen Bezahlterminals bezahlen (wenn auch nicht so schnell wie mit z.B. ApplePay). Dann gibts ein paar nette Zusatzfeatures wie Parkieren über die Geolocation und alles wird direkt dem normalen Konto belastet. Hat auch merkwürdige Aspekte, z.B. jede Bank hat eine „eigene“ App (nur Branding).
