So what is everyone reading on this ghost platform?
I am currently reading Jade War by Fonda Lee. It is the second book of the Green Bone Saga and it's excellent. #sciencefiction #bookcommunity #reading #readingfriday
For a different take on same-sex romance read Charlie Janes Anders' latest novel, set on a locked planet's border between night and day. It merges YA elements with intricate worldbuilding and transhumanist ideas. Given that CJA is one of SFF's most visible trans authors you should buy her stuff right now instead of debating a certain public figure's recent attempt to escape total irrelevance after nobody wants Hogwarts fun facts anymore.
Or if you do insist on your lesbian anti-hero story being written by a cishet dude, make sure to pick up "The Traitor Baru Cormorant" instead. It's joyfully uncompromising and you will spend the whole reading experience wondering "Will he dare to go there?". Fortunately, he will.
The novel also contains all the clever political intrigue you loved in GoT. If overthrowing governments by manipulating inflation rates sounds like fun to you, check it out.
Thanks to Tamsyn Muir you don't need another of those embarassing Nevernight books to please your inner teen goth. "Gideon the Ninth" is relentlessly morbid while being incontestably the most fun you'll ever have with a bunch of battling necromancers.
The characters are amazing and Gideon herself feels like a person you've never seen portrayed in any sff book before.
The novel also contains the best gay romance I have read in ages, so that's that.
Check out Vincent Perriots "Negalyod" sporting a post-apocalyptic cowboy setting with dinosaurs.
