@decryption I honestly agree. Even in the MSN days the most you could have is a saved log of your sessions somewhere deep in your Documents folder.

Having several group chats with seven years of history feels like seven years of mostly wasted space.

@rustyshelf it seems surprisingly good at picking up new photos in the background without me having to open the app all that much, but I haven’t used it as much more than a way to slurp my photos to my NAS
@rustyshelf I use Immich alongside iCloud so not quite what you’re asking, but it’s been a reliable way to store all my phone’s photos in another place that I own.
Merry Christmas from Gizmo
@viticci I remember doing something similar (albeit pre-AI) back when I wanted to import my Xbox Mass Effect 2 save into PC Mass Effect 3.
Took a lot of trial and error but the feeling when it worked was unbeatable!

@decryption I’m pretty tolerant of most of it but even months in I still actively dislike the odd pill shapes around clusters of buttons, and the way they’re not on an opaque bar or something.

I can’t see any more of my ‘content’ because it’s all blurred, why not just have it be opaque?

@rustyshelf 🫣 I’m sure I’ve seen it for Weather at least

@decryption Every article posted to an Apple related subreddit these days is accompanied by “summary by Apple intelligence”

Buddy I appreciate not having to read 9to5 slop to get the point of the article you posted, but is it really that hard to summarise it into a sentence yourself?

@decryption From when I’ve done it accidentally, it seems if you so much as graze this entire area it’ll send that message immediately.
I’ve hit it once while intending to hit Save 🙃
@decryption Love love loved reading this. A cool reminder of a really cool time for me. Computers were exciting and community was buzzing!
