Zoomers: "Hey why these mf so good at command line interfaces"
Millennials: "You wouldn't last an hour in the asylum where they raised me"
Acting like Steam hasnt earned it’s dominant market position is a bit disingenuous.
Steam does so much more with the platform than its competition.
No other PC game store has things like:
- clear controller compatibility information
- a TV friendly launcher
- a compatibility layer to run on Linux
- an officially supported handheld
I generally lean to GOG when the option is there myself, but there’s a clear advantage for Steam where I don’t have to fuss around to get games into a TV friendly launcher when i want to play that way. Steam just has this stuff built in.
Epic had a great deal for developers, but when buyers lose out on platform features by using alternative stores there’s no incentive to move from Steam. https://mastodon.social/@arstechnica/113012006103097834
Choose your phone!
Your options are:
- company that seeks rent on every transaction that happens through the phone
- company that tracks your location, habits and usage to build detailed profiles on you to inform advertising
- custom ROMs that can’t run your banking app
If anyone’s interested, grabbed one of these while it’s on a pretty good discount and planning to grab the remainder later.
The Torrent Compact is built to air cool your compact build as efficiently as possible. Main standouts include an inspiring layout, the open front grille and two of our 180 x 38 mm Dynamic PWM fans (or Prisma ARGB fans for the RGB version) custom-made to achieve maximum air cooling while maintaining controlled noise levels. Enabling highly efficient cooling with or without a water-loop, the Torrent Compact is a perfect fit for air cooling aficionados looking for a compact case.
I’m so glad this finally exists. The process to migrate my photos from Google to iCloud a year ago was so tedious. If I wanted to maintain metadata I had to run terminal scripts and shit that most people would just never bother with and which resulted in duplicates I’m still finding every now and then.
