What is Snac?

Snac (also known as #Snac2) is a simple, minimalistic ActivityPub instance. It is written in portable C and uses a file-based storage system with no database required.

It supports creating and managing user accounts, posting, following, and interacting with the wider Fediverse. It also includes a Mastodon-compatible API for use with third-party clients.

IMO: It is the best option for people who wants to self-host their own Fediverse instance.

What is YunoHost

TL;DR: Install Yunohost on Debian system, it manages your domains, email, SSl certificates and you can install multiple applications from its app catalog.

YunoHost is an operating system aiming to simplify server administration and therefore democratize self-hosting while making sure it stays reliable, secure, ethical and lightweight. It is a copylefted libre software project maintained by volunteers. Technically, it can be seen as a server distribution based on Debian GNU/Linux.

🚗 In Brussel zorgt autodelen voor een groot verschil. 64% van de gebruikers van Cambio en Poppy heeft hun eigen auto weggedaan dankzij autodelen.

Waarom werkt het?
✔️ Het moedigt aan om verschillende vervoersmiddelen te gebruiken.
✔️ Het is een goede aanvulling op het openbaar vervoer.
✔️ Het is geschikt voor iedereen, ook voor gezinnen.
✔️ Het maakt ruimte vrij in de stad.

Afgelopen zomer voerde Brussel Mobiliteit een uitgebreid onderzoek uit bij bijna 2.200 gebruikers van autodeeldiensten (Cambio en Poppy).

Vielleicht, um die Recherche etwas zu unterstützen: Bandcamp zahlt den Musiker*innen am meisten. Und löscht Accounts mit „KI“-Musik.

Und weil du mich auf die Idee gebracht hast, dass es ja vielleicht für andere auch interessant sein könnte, habe ich mal in einem kleinen Thread beschrieben, wie ich es nutze. Denn auf den ersten Blick sieht man die ganzen Möglichkeiten erstmal gar nicht. Viel Spaß!

What’s next for crowdfunding?

If you're an existing backer, the pledge manager is now open. Please keep an eye out for updates there so we can start preparing rewards for you.

The campaign is open again for the next month. With core maintenance funded, every new pledge (or increased pledge from existing backers) now goes directly toward our first stretch goal: federated groups. Support or share our extended campaign to help fund community-owned, cross-instance spaces for real collaboration and self-governance.

Bonus good news: Thanks to a new grant, end-to-end encrypted messaging in Bonfire is now funded and in development!
