The best advice I have for new nerds: Refuse to pay rent.

Don't subscribe. Don't lease. Don't use their cloud. Don't slip down the freemium slope. Don't create accounts on their services.

Buy it once. Run it local. Avoid commercial software.

It'll be a huge pain and you'll be an outsider but it'll be endless, interesting, and hard fun that'll pay you back with a curious mind and an understanding of the fabric of our intellectual infrastructure that will make you light-years more capable, useful, and healthy than the "AI" zombies.

So yeah no, it's not available as ppc64le anywhere. Flathub doesn't give a shit about ppc64le - the right call of course, but annoying for me - and the Fedora Flathub remote doesn't have it because *ding ding ding* the regular Fedora RPM repositories don't have it. Now I have to install GNOME extensions through the browser, like an animal.

Why can't you just make an account at the GNOME extensions website and have your extension setup sync across machines?

If everyone was refusing to provide official IDs to verify their identity and age on social platforms, and just let their account rot there unused instead, we would soon see platforms themselves starting to advocate against these invasive laws to recover their users.

Just saying.
They need you more than you need them.
Stop complying with invasive requests.

"If you're not on board with AI you're going to get left behind"

Boost if you'd like to be left behind and would consider paying extra for a life without this bullshit.

3k boost edit: everyone who said a variant of "why should I pay" is right, but the world is wrong.

Sorry … but I’d rather skip your website than disable my Ad Blocker.
being a grown up is stupid

Periodic self-repetition: As a data librarian I can say that "AI" is not a matter of personal preference -- whether you like it or not, or whether you have found some use that you think is useful. It actively destroys organized knowledge, and therefore it actively destroys civilization.

Whenever someone looks for a human written text and can't find it because statistical near variants have been created and indexed, whenever "AI" "hallucinates" a reference, knowledge has been destroyed.
