There used to be a project called Kimp that ported Gimp to Qt. I guess one could do something similar with gnome.

A fun project I found on github was called gtk-made-qt, which allowed to compile gtk tests with qt using shim headers and libraries.

If that could be made 100% capable, all gtk apps could be qt apps.
