When I threw up my new website, I gave it the name "Solarpunk Station", because it's about a cast of characters on a space station.

Now I realise that name is 'taken', so I need to choose a new one.

So far, I'm drawing a blank. Any suggestions?

(And no, I haven't fixed the navigation yet. I have had a bit of a week.)

I don't think people are realising the danger the Fediverse is in.

The only thing stopping corporations and VCs taking over this place is that the Fediverse is spread out on many different servers, which makes it very difficult to purchase.

If most of the Fediverse ends up on mastodon.social, which is now a strong possibility, there will be nothing to stop most of it being sold to Musk or Zuckerberg or whoever.

The bigger mastodon.social becomes, the more likely a buyout is to happen.

I for one am excited for the new chapter of projectmushroom.social and spore.social. @hedgewitchmeg and @spore are truly fantastic folks who have been working their butts off to ensure a smooth transition.

It’s honestly surprising to know that the feed isn’t being manipulated for maximum attention.

A similar experience is http://www.wehole.tv — it randomly shows you YouTube videos with less than 100 views. What is surprising (but shouldn’t be) is how much non-English speaking content comes up. It’s a more representative picture of the world.
