Another entry in my intermittent Audiobooks and Embroidery series....

Currently listening to The Harp of Kings: a fun, if predictable, historical fantasy. Seriously, I had the whole plot sussed out by about 20% into the book. But I liked the writing and the characters and I'm sticking with it, if nothing else to see how one odious fellow gets his comeuppance. Journey before Destination, as they say.

Just finished this kit from Jessica Long Embroidery on Etsy. Learned some new stitches here, including split stitch, fern stitch, and whipped back stitch on the text. Not ENTIRELY happy with how the text came out, but it's good learning.

We are having a wee heatwave here in the PNW. It was still about 86 degrees at 8PM, and when the big Doug Fir in my back yard drizzled a bit of warm sap onto my cheek I was too preoccupied with my ukulele to notice. The sap was warm and I didn't feel the impact. Then I noticed this AMAZING smell... It was Springtime and Summer and Christmas all at once. It was sun and sky and mountains and little burbling creeks. Where could that fabulous aroma be coming from?

My face. It was coming from my face.

Two embroidery projects in the bag. The heart was so delicate, only 1 or two threads, and took soooo very long.
The flowers on the jeans were double-triple thread, but the ends were knotted together making 4-6 thread bits. The knots were easier, and this tactic made the threading process go faster. That combined with this being a smaller project in general made it go super quick. Excited for wearable art, too!
