PHP is dead to me

- sometime human
- often cranky old white CIS anti fascist
- sometime mass of conflicting views (hey I don't have it all figured out either)
- pretty much out of fucks at this point

Don't bother requesting a follow if you're a fascist; have no avatar; no bio or never made an original post.

Well, I made it. Hours after I wanted to have it finished. Not because of troubles, though I did have a false start or two, but because I had to take a long call.

Then in my rush to wrap it up, I forgot to take pictures.

I made it by the skin of my teeth as far as wire lengths go. It came out really well, and tbh I am writing it off to good luck πŸ€

I’m a pretty decent hand with the iron, but statistics generally would have gotten me on this project.

The tiniest, finest soldering I’ve ever attempted.

Wish me luck.

Here’s the radio.

No power supply or manuals shipped with it, so what I know about it, we can see right here.

It is a revision 3 uSDX+.

It has all the filters for up to 10m.

It has a battery charge circuit, a connection for a battery, and no battery on board.

This unit came from a company endorsed by DL2MAN; they claim core and transmit circuits are isolated, and that all components are industrial grade.

I suppose we shall see soon enough.

The rig I’m building around the Pi 4 (8gb) and HackRF One. It’s also a daily driver (I’m using it and an iPad right now).

It incorporates significant battery technology, including solar recharging capabilities (yes I have the panels for this).

It powers everything but the fat studio monitor. When I go fully solar/battery, I use a 10” touchscreen that is powered by its own solar rechargeable batteries.

I have something similar built around a 30$ nooelec receiver.

There is a pin on the Pi4 that effectively works as a low power digital transmitter with I want to continue some transmitter experiments at some later date.
