I'm a serial hobbyist, trying to have as much fun as I can, Some things I find stupid, and I probably will tell you, but I try not to be a dick about it, mostly I do manage that.
Anything I say is just my personal opinion or if it sounds really stupid, probably a joke. Yes I might have opinions that you don't like, and if you don't I'm willing to talk
about it, just be honest and decent and I will strive to do the same.

@anarchiv reminds me of a this lake that was basically called Lake Lakelakelakelake. local sapmi said its “just some lake” aka ”mikä lie jauri” so it was marked in map by finnish map maker as Jaurijärvi, then copied by russians on theirs as Jaurijärviozero, then by germans as Jaurijärviozerosee and by usians as Lake Jaurijärviozerosee.

@JeffGrigg @julesette @dmandl You should see 'Spinal Tap' a great movie for musicians, all cliches of touring bands are being high-lighted. Also the amps that go to 11. Then they go louder. 🤣 Saying that; we've been using Fender Hot Rod deVille amps and they even go to 12. Really!

"Um... do I have the wrong number? Is this pizza shack?"

"They screwed up the sign. Now we're Pizza Shark."

This was before the web, but they're still (edit: I just learned they closed, I guess during the pandemic?) Pizza Shark

When I was in grad school, there was a restaurant near campus called "The Burger Continental".

They did Armenian, Turkish, and Greek food.

The name was because it used to be a burger joint and nobody ever got around to changing the sign, over a great many years.

The Burger Continental was in Pasadena 20 years ago.

@dmandl there has to be some kind of common story where a business owner asks a sign maker to just make it look as shitty as possible.

Like "it ain't just fish" at a fish &amp chips place …
They might as well have included "this is the best tagline we could think of. go ahead and think about what that means."
