HBD Paul Kantner. Not the best singer, not the best guitarist, but (at a minimum) a key member of one of the greatest American bands. https://youtu.be/aXxnJM2-VcA

...The far right has been recruiting among the "anti-imperialist" left pretty successfully, largely with antisemitism disguised as "anti-Zionism." That's about to get a lot worse thanks to the war just started by that moron.
Most of these headlines don't mention the crucial fact that this guy is a conspiracy nut and Trump devotee using the standard far-right antisemitic tropes for opposing the war. This will end in more red-brown ugliness. (I 100% oppose the war, but not because the Jews tricked Trump into it.) https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/17/world/middleeast/joe-kent-counterterrorism-resigns-iran-war.html
Joe Kent, a Top Counterterrorism Official for the Trump Administration, Resigns, Citing Iran War

Mr. Kent is the highest-ranking Trump administration official to quit in opposition to the conflict. He said pressure from Israel had pushed the president into war against Iran.

Four chords good, two chords bad. Join me tonight at 7 p.m. for this week's installment of my radio show, "It's Complicated" (an hour of prog and prog-adjacent music). Hear it live at https://wfmu.org or through the magic of the @WFMU app. (Pictured: Lost Crowns.)

...I kind of feel like I'm circulating a photo of Batman without his mask here.
Very rare to see a photo of Cindy Sherman au naturel. This is at the American Academy of Arts and Letters (among the hundreds of photos of inductees going back to the late 19th century—it's well worth going there just for them), and seeing it kind of made my day yesterday.
An app I would gladly pay for: I hold my phone camera over a plate or food (at a party or other event) and it tells me whether there's meat in it. Having to keep asking random people "Do you think there's meat in this?" is not fun. #vegetarianism
