Listening to the Beach Boys box "The Brother Years." It's a reminder of why some recordings are unreleased. The covers of RnR classics like "Mony Mony," "Shake, Rattle & Roll" and "Sea Cruise" are reminders that these guys were...not the world's most soulful group.
My brother refreshing my memory about former Yankee Bobby Cox (R.I.P.). All I recalled was the many jokes my 10-year-old friends routinely made about his name.

I'm here at the ICP Photobook Fest again today. Stop by and say hello (and buy a book).

The ICP Photobook Fest, featuring the best photobook publishers in the universe, runs all weekend, now through Sunday on the Lower East Side. Stop by and spend money. I'll be at the ROMAN NVMERALS table with a stack of copies of my new book, which I will sign if you like. https://www.icp.org/content/icp-photobook-fest-2026
Knowing (some) British slang, I was thrown by this headline. In the UK "cod" (adjective) also means "fake," but they're talking about fish here. #copyediting

It was a real pleasure to talk about prog rock with two such knowledgeable people for the LEPHT HAND podcast. You can hear it here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/prog-rock-and-of-157472737

...There's no doubt that this is a Rascals quote. Farina says it to his kid brother (or sister). I'm not going to dig up the episode. My friend Mike was obsessed with the Rascals. He also grew up a mile or two from Epstein (Gravesend/Sea Gate), though he was younger and not a rapist.
Interesting quote from the Epstein suicide note, and no one will get the reference. It's a line from The Little Rascals that a kid from Brooklyn of Epstein's age would undoubtedly know. My friend Mike M. said it all the time: "Watcha want me to do, bust out cryin'?" https://www.nytimes.com/2026/05/06/nyregion/epstein-suicide-note.html
The most fascinating finding about the Epstein suicide note is how similar his handwriting is to William Barr's.
