I laughed and cried my way through #OurFlagMeansDeath in about a week, and now I need a new TV show. At least #DoomPatrol is back!
Happy Solstice! 🖖🏼

Oh, another book I just read that I meant to recommend: #LegendsAndLattes. An orc opens a coffee shop in a land where no one has heard of coffee. It’s warm and comforting and has a cute slow-burn queer romance and a bit of a found family and… okay, it’s basically fanfic without the source material, but it’s lovely if that’s what you need! #books #fantasy
I *cannot* stop listening to the audiobook of #SeaOfTranquility by Emily St John Mandel. The more I figure out what’s going on, the more compelling and horrifying it gets. I’m almost enjoying this week’s migraine day as a result ;) #Books #SFF #SciFi
I'm sick of people saying it's easier to imagine the end of the world than it is to imagine the end of #capitalism. I think about the end of capitalism every day. Today I imagined what it would be like to live in a community that valued me for being present rather than "useful" or "productive." In that world, I think I would spend a lot more time taking care of plants. I would tell stories when I felt like it, instead of on deadline. What do you imagine? #ImagineTheEndOfCapitalism

Everyone deserves a little special something to pick up their spirits during the holidays!!

And then the book BETRAYED ME *sob* Never trust a book not to do the ‘disability motivation for a villain origin story’ thing, no matter how interestingly diverse it is otherwise. Because of course it did that. *more sobbing*
Remember I said I was going to be on a podcast on #fandom and #disability? It’s out! It’s a two-part series on the #fansplaining podcast, featuring disabled/neurodivergent people in fan studies as well as lots of disabled/ND fans. I sent a voicemail, but they ended up reading it as a letter - but I was just delighted to be included. Part 1 is here https://www.fansplaining.com/episodes/186a-disability-and-fandom-part-1 and part 2 is at https://www.fansplaining.com/episodes/186b-disability-and-fandom-part-2 . Enjoy!
Episode 186A: Disability and Fandom: Part 1 — Fansplaining

Listening to the audiobook of #LightFromUncommonStars and it’s *brilliant*. #UrbanFantasy and #SciFi fusion, with a woman who needs a seventh musician protégée so she can free her soul from hell, and her blossoming queer romance with the donut lady from space she doesn’t have time to be infatuated with. And there’s a trans runaway musician who finds herself (somewhat unwillingly) at the centre of the story. So far I think it’s an all-Asian cast of characters too. Loving it. #Books
