I started an online radio station during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic. We exclusively play music by artists and bands in New England: OhHelloBoston.com 📻🎶

@betamatt, that's awesome you participated in what the brewery raised through Wefunder. 🍻💵
@wx1g, cheers to that! I will confess I don't really know a lot about beer; but if that's your thing, you might like what they have at Medford Brewing Company. Max Heinegg the co-owner and brewer, makes all the beer. Friends have said good things about it. Music performances take place in an adjacent room with tables and chairs. I look forward to meeting you on Thursday if you make it out.

“The Ones” is my favorite song by Girl With A Hawk.

Oh, hello, @misc. Exuberantly long-time, no see! 😎

“The Romantic” is a new song by Girl With a Hawk. Maybe Linda and Dan will play it on Thursday.

Listen to it on Bandcamp:

If you're in the Boston area on Thursday, June 8th, my online radio station (Oh, Hello Boston) curated early evening live music with two of my favorite Boston rockers at Medford Brewing Company, the new brewery in West Medford, MA

It's a rare duo show for Linda Viens and Dan Coughlin. These days they usually perform with their band, Girl With A Hawk.

There's no cover charge at the door, 6:30-8:30 p.m. It’s going to be #GoddamnDelightful. Truly.

The biggest problem, IMO, with the creator economy is that it's an extension of the attention economy.

The drive to create every day gets paired with the necessity to manufacture attention.

Very few creators can successfully escape that.

There had been something before the creator economy that was much healthier. The sharing economy. You shared when you had something of substance to share, but otherwise didn't have to be on any sort of content treadmill.

"Content without consent" is a concern that I could see catching on as more people gradually realize the content they've published and posted over the years is being secretly used to train for-profit AI models. https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/interactive/2023/ai-chatbot-learning/

An analysis of a chatbot data set by The Washington Post reveals the proprietary, personal, and often offensive websites that go into an AI’s training data.

@proactivebusybody @dan -- Abby, that is indeed accurate. 🤓😹
