Iโm thrilled to announce that Swift OTel just hit 1.0.0 ๐ I started Swift OTel shortly after completing the Google Summer of Code project for Swift Distributed Tracing in 2020, and back then it was solely focused on being a tracer. More than four years and a ton of amazing community contributions later, I couldnโt be happier about how the library evolved. Thank you ๐งก ๐ Highlights Logging, Metrics, and Distributed Tracing Swift OTel comes with support for all t...

Complete public API overhaul: We massively simplified and reduced our public API to provide a much friendlier bootstrapping. ...

We've now updated the official compiler README to link to the new Android CI provided by @Marc_Prud_hommeaux at Skip. Thanks to @drodriguez and his employer for donating the prior community Android CI server for so many years. The good news is that thanks to all the work @drodriguez, @compnerd, and to a lesser extent myself put into fixing those tests over the years, there are only a couple dozen failing now out of almost 15k compiler validation tests run on the community Android CI, even after ...
The recording, slides, and sample project of my #fosdem talk on Distributed Tracing in server-side Swift are already online. I had a great time at FOSDEM and speaking for the first time was a bit intimidating but also lots of fun.
