"The conversation about the #disability community and the gig economy is often...tense. I posit that perhaps there is a way forward."
When Gig Workers Inadvertently Become Care Workers

As if the gig economy wasn’t exploitative enough, it’s now filling a gap in another exploitative industry that values profits over human lives.

First chance I get!
Just heard "Heard it through the grapevine." translated into #Russian as: "a #magpie brought on its tail." #translation
Tonight my water bottle leaked into my left shoe and sock. so that was soaking during class, then I couldn't get the bathroom stall door to work, then got tangled in my backpack (I'm GenX - don't know how to get it on both shoulders!). Finally got to the bus & realized I forgot to close my pants. Tomorrow will be better!
@IPEdmonton Yeah, in my case it was basically just that there was no way they could do anything to help me at all but people said I should report it. I guess maybe to have a record that would help? Though I'm not sure it would have.
@IPEdmonton I remember a similar question asking about police helping solve crimes. The one time I needed such help there was none.
@alisonborealis You are going to enjoy that ep so much!
@alisonborealis I love it too. Have you heard Michael's new one, "If Books Could Kill?" Also so satisfying in some similar ways. (My gateway MP was the "Supersize Me" ep)
Ugh. Scratched my own eye trying to open in this morning. Ouch. (Has been numbed now, have salve and name of an opthomologist.)
