The first kombucha is delicious but very strong, and only this much made it to the fridge.

Is the daughter a mother now that I have harvested kombucha? I guess only when she has given her own daughter. So now I have a teenage scoby or something like that, starting to grow into the next size jar.

I believe the more beings you have in your household that grow at their own pace and with organic changing care needs, you learn to rest in their rhythm, in cyclical times you cannot and are not expected to control. You learn to surrender in entanglements of nourishment. I believe this is decolonizing time. Paying attention beyond yourself and observing all the real times there are.

HI there! Today I am mixing a new soil factory, which by the coming Wednesday may have heated up with the help of bacteria working really hard. If you want to help me check on the soil factory and learn about composting care in awkward indoor spaces, there is a lunch talk at CBS open for all on Wedneday 26.02.

Permahaven Talk series: ‘Composting Care’ by Silje Erøy Sollien

What containers can you live in?

I am reading a book at the moment which claims that conversation is where we find our true home. (Agnes Callard: ‘Open Socrates’) In fact, if you start looking for who is writing about ‘true home’, it is mostly a spiritual concept. Think Thich Nhat Hahn.
I just watched the Ennio Morricone documentary by Giuseppe Tornatore. I have never cried as much to a film as when watching The Mission. Apparently Morricone cried when he watched the film - even before writing the music!! I definitely live in that film and that music. What can express the whole beauty and tragedy of everything human. All your emotions can live in that experience around the Iguazu falls and be at home in the disaster.

It has started snowing.

I think I have found a platform for my blog that I can work with. Being home alone for nine days - the first time I experience this since having a child - is highly productive. At home in a different way. Home. Creating a meaningful hole in the universe that you can really live in. Or be invited into by artists and other beings making you aware of the relations holding you. Where you can surrender and just be. In the music. In the waterfall. In the meaningless of drawing borders on maps and making art about it.

Moments. Just moments of home.
