Spent some time gardening after a long time. It's has always been a pretty refreshing and restorative and I should be spending more time with plants.

In these photos, you'll see attempt to grow chillis, some lemon grass plants, cuttings of holy basil and lucky bamboo and some oranges :)

Also, I have started the attempt to create compost from kitchen waste, let's see how it goes :)

After creating an outdoor aviary, I heard some lovebird's chirp around the aviary. When I looked, a pair of Fischer Lovebirds (probably escaped from someone's cage as they're not native to the part of the world I live in) was communicating with my lovebirds.

I tried to catch them as otherwise they would've become prey to some wild animal/bird but they were so high that it was nearly impossible to catch them.

It was indeed a rare sight to see parrots flying around.

I hope that pair ended up somewhere safe.

Since very young age, I had been dreaming to own a African grey parrot but it was always so expensive LOL. I used to go to shops and nearby breeders and play with their grey parrots. This bird always admired me so much, I watched the video of Einstein (the most famous grey parrot) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rfGEtALHYs&pp=ygUcZWluc3RlaW4gYWZyaWNhbiBncmV5IHBhcnJvdA%3D%3D many times. I have been breeding birds like budgies, cockatiels for years now but there's something special about African greys that always intrigued me.

After some big changes recently in my life, I decided to finally have my own grey parrot as well and yesterday I got one. I haven't decided the name yet but he is a 7 months old boy and is very friendly. I am looking forward to build a long term relationship with this boy!

It was the winters of 2013 when one of my pair of cockatiel was looking after 2 chicks but then we had to shift our home which meant disturbing the parents (that can lead to parents abandoning their own chicks). The chicks was just 1-2 days old, I was forced to take them and hand feed them myself after every couple of hours (also during the night).

This pearl cockatiel female is one of those chicks, and she went on to give birth to many more generations of cockatiels, she is now ~10 years old young and healthy getting ready for another clutch with her beloved partner.

This is what a small kid shown to me; a chick she built using play dough. She was very proud of her creativity and was very happy about it so I took a photo of that to show her that I really liked it (which I did). Start appreciating little things in your surroundings and you’ll start feeling much better.

Today, I decided to go out as I was exhausted at home, didn’t know where to go so just hopped on to the bike and started driving.
Along the way, two people asked for ride and I dropped them to their destinations, the prayers they gave to me were really precious and I believe this is all you need. The world needs kindness and love.
After all this, I went on a hike, did 5KM in 1.5 hours and that was very satisfying.
Here’s the verse of Quran that I can relate to today:
“ Worship Allah [alone] and associate none with Him. And be kind to parents, relatives, orphans, the poor, near and distant neighbors, close friends, [needy] travelers, and those [bondspeople] in your possession. Surely Allah does not like whoever is arrogant, boastful.” - Quran (4:36)

آج، میں نے گھر سے تھک جانے کی وجہ سے باہر جانے کا فیصلہ کیا، معلوم نہیں تھا کہ کہاں جانا ہے، اس لیے بس موٹر سائیکل پر چڑھ گیا اور چلانا شروع کر دی۔

اس سب کے بعد، میں نے پیدل سفر کیا، 1.5 گھنٹے میں 5KM کیا اور یہ بہت اطمینان بخش تھا۔
یہاں قرآن کی وہ آیت ہے جس کا میں آج سے تعلق رکھتا ہوں:

اور اللہ کی عبادت کرو اور اس کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہ ٹھہراؤ اور ماں باپ سے اچھا سلوک کرو اور رشتہ داروں اور یتیموں اور محتاجوں اور قریب کے پڑوسی اور دور کے پڑوسی اورپاس بیٹھنے والے ساتھی اور مسافر اور اپنے غلام لونڈیوں (کے ساتھ اچھا سلوک کرو۔) بیشک اللہ ایسے شخص کو پسند نہیں کرتا جو متکبر، فخرکرنے والا ہو۔قرآن (۴:۳۶)
