It's almost like they never heard of Screen Recognition. I'm separating the idea of being able to identify unlabeled onscreen items from the ability to act on them. The former is basically Screen Recognition, which has been available for VoiceOver awhile now..

@technocounselor Pretty sure you figured this out, but “quality" refers to screen quality/resolution, so it seemed safe to me to buy one of the cheaper models, since screen things matter little to me.

@technocounselor I don’t believe it matters what model you choose. There seem to be three quality bands with LG. I picked a low end one from Costco.

@technocounselor I love my LG TV. The accessibility is very good both in terms of speech and for my purposes, high contrast text. I’ve also gotten around the smart features by not signing any of the user agreements for the smart features . I just plugged the Apple TV in and moved on. You won’t be able to use AirPlay directly with the TV itself but you can through Apple TV.
