If you are a senior or disabled person living on social security, be prepared for a problem in July.

The House WILL hold your check hostage and refuse to raise the debt ceiling to shut down the federal government.

Social Security isn't funded by Congress, but...apparently distribution IS funded/controlled by the federal government. Your money is there since you paid in for decades, but you can't access it.

Hold Congress accountable for holding YOU hostage!

I will be honest - I haven’t wasted a minute watching this clown circus on CSPAN. What I am interested in is understanding whether Democrats have any strategy to get debt ceiling passed bc these legislative terrorists are hell bent on burning everything down and tanning the economy to hurt a Democratic President. The answer is unclear - we will see if they are ready to take in this party of crooks, liars, traitors and potential criminals. We will see.
Has the House picked a Speaker yet?

They have finished round 6 and are taking a break.

Well I got laid off today. Looking for remote iOS engineer opportunities, mid to senior level. Please share ❤️ #ios #layoffs #stitchfix

There is no middle ground between authoritarianism and democracy, but too many journalists seek one.

Where's the middle ground between authoritarianism and democracy?

While people continue to fly without masks, a recent study in Malaysia found COVID in the wastewater of 96% of the flights (https://www.audacy.com/wwjnewsradio/news/national/coronavirus-found-in-samples-from-96-percent-of-flights). Now, tens of thousands attending CES in Clark County, NV, a county with substantial COVID transmission. The event's COVID policies won't prevent a transmission--masks are recommended “if you are more comfortable,” one complimentary COVID test is available for people who ask, and organizers request people not attend if sick. https://www.ces.tech/logistics/in-person/health-protocols.aspx
- While vaccines offer imperfect protection, there is evidence recent vaccinations with the bivalent booster offers improved safety. Despite that, uptake of the new booster is shockingly low. Just 1 in 6 eligible Americans has the new booster, and the rate of boosters in southern states is below 10%. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#vaccinations_vacc-people-booster-percent-pop5

Also, we cannot just live with COVID. Many people are vulnerable, so "living with COVID" means permanently being at high risk. One of these people is my father. He has late-stage bone marrow cancer. After six months of treatment, he is now stabilized for a number of years, but if he gets COVID now, it might be game over.

He cannot just "live with COVID". So, what these editors-in-chiefs are saying is "survival of the fittest". That's the mentality you are proposing.

💯

Also don't tell us how sorry you feel for our situation, especially if you're contributing to the problem. Don't tell us you care while you run around maskless and go to superspreader events. You don't give a fuck. We see it.
If you really care, act. Everything else is hypocrisy.
