@marcoarment i don’t think the Suunto is for you. Everything you mentioned about Garmin is valid for Suunto as well, if not even more so.

Both Garmin and Suunto are awesome for walking, hiking, running etc. or if you value battery life (my Suunto Race S lasts 5 days on a charge). However, they suck as smartwatches; they are clearly sport-focused watches, nothing more. Suunto, to me, feels even more rigid than a Garmin as a watch (less customization, less affordances to how you use it)

@christianselig @Jackson i think i found your problem: you’re trying to use Apple Home. It’s such a ridiculously poor app, I really cannot understand how they could make it so hard to set up and make work as you’d want. I know Home Assistant has a very steep learning curve, but it’s so so much better!
@overcastfm something’s wrong with trying to access overcast premium, it just kicks me out of that screen. I force closed the application, but no luck.

Today is the deadline for voter registration in Georgia. If you are not registered, please strongly consider registering. You can do so easily online, by mail or in person.

If you believe you are registered, I strongly recommend checking your registration status just in case, as there have been unprecedented efforts to revoke legitimate voter registration.

@overcastfm an indicator that gives a hint there’s something to the right of the art would be nice. Otherwise, you’re never really know to swipe left and right.

@gruber @caseyliss @BenRiceM I do perceive the intentions as good, yes. The effects, up to now, have been negligence, at best. However, part of that comes down to the way Apple chose to implement the DMA.

For example, why does iOS require a core technology fee, yet macOS (and any other OS, for that matter) does not? A lot of the value of iOS comes from the apps (see the Vision Pro, and its lack of), yet Apple chooses to very much ignore this fact. They are taking advantage of their power.

@gruber @caseyliss @BenRiceM is this the reason Apple took Fortnite off the App Store? Come on, let’s stop pretending that everything Apple does is right and holy.

While I don’t think the DMA has achieved what the politicians thought it would, it’s a good first step. It has to start somewhere, otherwise Apple will continue to turn the screws on both developers, and end users.

Why doesn’t Apple take 30% out of Patreon’s cut of a subscription? While still a shitty trying to do, at least it makes more sense, as it punishes the end user far less. I’d say the same applies to books, or any other content that’s not directly created by the app creator
@siracusa @caseyliss
I asked Siri to call my wife. It, very helpfully, asked which one (the 2 options being my wife, and my mother-in-law)… @siracusa, @hotdogsladies
