Iโ€™m attempting to compose a list of the best technical-ish conferences. Will you help?

Add to this google spreadsheet or just reply here with the name of the conference, the location and why you think it's one of the best.

Origin stories, personal values, and surprising hobbies! Raf shares his journey from Kuwait to Canada and his passion for craftsmanship and pro-social behavior. Recia talks about her background in chemical engineering and thanks her parents for their sacrifice that inspired her values of perseverance and compassion. Next thing ya know weโ€™re discussing generational trauma and the potential benefits of suffering as a means of personal development (#buddhism seems to be a theme this season huh?).

To all my #clojure people, you probably want to sign up for this:
https://application.garden/

As it is getting spring over here in the northern hemisphere, time to get the garden ready. https://application.garden I mean.

I've been moaning for something like this for years: just push a #Clojure app via git to application.garden and it will run it for you within seconds, complete with persistent storage, ability to use #Datomic and a on a domain of your choosing. No Docker, no <insert fancy pants tech stack no one understands here>.

Oh, and you can connect to the running app with your REPLโ™ป๏ธ

#clojure people, it's me (again).

How do you manage deps.edn? Do you write it by hand? Is there anything like `yarn add` / `cargo add` at all? Sadly, I have zero idea about java ecosystem, so I literally can't figure how the maven thing is supposed to work, e.g. if I want to add a dependency on `thheller/shadow-cljs`, how do I know which version is the latest?

Yeah, I know I can go to github. I can expect the package name to be same as GH repo. But there's no releases. Is clojars.org how you find things?

All of my books are set as Pay What You Want on my direct store, as little as $0.99 to help me pay for medical expenses! Lots of #fantasy with #lgbtqia characters and complex plotlines.

All assistance appreciated ๐Ÿ’œ I've been very sick and the added stress of Medicare not covering everything has been difficult.

Dax Murray | Author

Dax writes high fantasy where kingdoms fall, and witches rise. Dax spends too much time daydreaming and not enough time writing. You can find Dax most often at toot.cat/@chaoscatgirl. Dax called the metro DC area home, where they reside with their too-intelligent service dog, and their too-clever cat. They are also frequent travelers to Eorzea. In addition to writing fiction, Dax sometimes writes code and music and draws lines in the sand. Ask them about unionizing cats. Dax is the author of A LAKE OF FEATHERS AND MOONBEAMS--a Lesbrary Top 100 Book--and the SCIONS AND SHADOWS series. They studied creative writing at Allegheny College and are a member of the Kraken Collective, an alliance of LGBTQ Speculative Fiction authors.
