@phubar Any advice on sprucing up secondary characters in a horror? Got this note "Although ultimately underdeveloped, the story's ensemble of characters still come off as interesting and largely memorable." Any thoughts to help? Thanks! =)

Read New Scripts in our Library

Looking for some reading over Christmas and New Year? We've just dropped a batch of new scripts into our online script library from BBC Dramas released during 2022. The best way to learn how to write scripts is to read them!

A teenager in the Bronx was accused of stealing a backpack. The police arrested him.

Couldn't make bail. Would spend 2 years on Riker's island awaiting a trial.

-only for the charges to be dropped. Many were appalled, they set it up for him to go to community college. That's where I met him once- my electronics club. Made an LED Christmas tree-he seemed... so so so sad.

He took his own life later that year.

Anyways. Uh, Sam Bankman-Fried to be released on $250 million bail. #cw

I'm full on obsessed with this idea

hear me out

we need a bridge film between ROTJ & TFA

it's a horror tale about a section of Death Star 2 floating in space for 10 yrs

a salvage team stumbles on it. jackpot!

then discover a Sith ghost trapped on board seeking a host body

The Darkness: A Star Wars Story

(and yes I know there's a novel or comic about his resurrection but this is better 😝)

#JohnMastodon is proof that things *CAN* go viral here on Mastodon, but the key is that *YOU* are the algorithm. The reason that the John Mastodon meme showed up on other people's timelines is because so many users boosted the posts.

The lesson here is: please don't just favourite something if you really enjoyed it; BOOST it so that other people can enjoy it, too! This is the only reason why I bother to create as large a social graph as I can on Mastodon—to act as an amplifier. You can, too!❤️😉

Here’s a poem in the shape of a Christmas tree. It’s called ‘Needles’.

I recently rewatched THE SIXTH SENSE — written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan — and was reminded yet again that we remember the wrong twist when we think about the film and why it works so well. Let’s discuss...

On Screenwriting: What About THE SIXTH SENSE’s Other Twist?

In which I break down why THE SIXTH SENSE’s OTHER twist is its most important one and how its location in the script is why the film works so well.

Hi @genniferh , is there a term used in the ROP/BB/BCS writers room for the writing or deliberate construction of a scene where the audience wouldn't/couldn't know what was intended. A puzzle scene? Or a withholding scene? Breadcrumb scene? Like when Mike sprays the $10,000 cash at the Kettlemans in 'Bingo' or in 'Klick' when Chuck picks up something unknown in the garage with the tongs? Usually somebody's up to no good. Is there a term applied to that? "We'll write a xyz scene?" Thanks! =)
