Taco Bell is going hard in the “we’re a chicken restaurant now” direction for the 3rd or 4th time in the last 18 months. Like El Pollo Loco doesn’t exist. Del Taco is cornering the “cheap and shitty” market. Chipotle is the dine-in custom, super sanitized option. There’s legit taquerias and taco trunks in lots of communities throughout the country. Who is Taco Bell trying to be?
I wish they would be an avocado restaurant. Their breakfast crunchwrap with avocado and hash brown inside? Amazing! Avocados are healthy, they can be dressed up in all kinds of ways. Vegan friendly. Great with bacon. If a restaurant came up with the ad campaign that guac was free, it would be insane. People would love that! Everyone has chicken. Everyone also charges two fucking dollars for avocado. A quality avocado restaurant would have my adoration fr! #avocadoration

Just going through a “binge Law & Order reruns on free TV for background noise” phase, don’t mind me.
BenSometimes I look at contemporary conceptual art and I think it's a bit silly. It's ultimately the idea that's being sold and you can say anything is art if you're sincere enough. Reading about the gold toilet being bought by Ripleys and then reading about the artist - Maurizio Cattelan - and his works kneeling Hitler and drowning Pinocchio etc. Turns out I think he's really rather good. To the extent I didn't realise he was the banana taped the the wall guy, and weirdly I actually think now that was quite a brave and bold piece. At the time I thought some nutter had just taped a banana to the wall and called it art. Which I guess still remains true. It's all about perspective I suppose. What is art? Am I art? Probably. I'm the equivalent of an old banana duct taped to a wall. I seem insane, but from a very particular perspective, just maybe I am unique and bold. Or maybe I'm just an old banana. We may never understand.
