No, I wasn't. I wasn't! No, you didn't "hear" me shrug. Good lord.

You know, we never fought like this before you found that damned thing. No, we didn't. No,

...NO WE DID NOT

#cursedamulet

Alright, maybe retrace your steps.

......

...........Well retrace your neck, then. I'll retrace mine! It leads directly to these shrugging shoulders. ๐Ÿคท

Check that action! ๐Ÿคท "Hey bro, seen a cursed amulet?" ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿคท

Sorry, I think I just need to eat. Hey, did you check the junk drawer? It's right behind you. Yeah, that one.

....๐Ÿคท๐Ÿคท๐Ÿคท

No luck huh?

#cursedamulet

So what does it do? Yeah... I get it, it's cursed, but what does it do?

No, it's fine, I don't expect you to have all the answers. I'm sorry. I'm just trying to understand, you know?

Like... Why I should care

#cursedamulet

No, I haven't seen the cursed amulet.

Don't get mad at me, I didn't lose it.

Maybe losing it is the curse?

...Don't make that face.

Substack's new in-app payments frustrate publishers: "One option is terrible for us, the other is terrible for our readers"

The newsletter platform's latest update means that Apple users will have to purchase subscriptions via the Apple Store at inflated prices, and publishers will see delayed payouts. But it also undermines one of the platform's core selling points: migration of mailing lists

I'm scheduled to get my updated COVID booster at CVS this Sunday.

The online form had the basic yes/no question: "Do you have a condition that puts you at high risk for severe outcomes from COVID-19 virus?"

And while "mood disorders including depression" is one of the CDC's listed at-risk categories and I could honestly say yes, just fucking lie if you need to, no one is going to check.

I wrote about the ICEBlock app, the developer's infuriating HOPE talk, and how it's unfortunately basically activism theater https://micahflee.com/unfortunately-the-iceblock-app-is-activism-theater/
Unfortunately, the ICEBlock app is activism theater

At this summer's HOPE conference, Joshua Aaron spoke about ICEBlock, his iPhone app that allows users to anonymously report ICE sightings within a 5 mile radius, and to get notifications when others report ICE sightings near them. You can see the full talk, and the lively/infuriating Q&A, here,

Yesterday I had a great conversation with two national guard troopers about what Home Rule is and why the people of DC care about it.

On Saturday I worked with my neighbors to shut down an ICE checkpoint.

On Friday night I walked around with neighbors in pairs recording national guard and cops as they responded en masse to a high school fight.

All of that happened because we organized. I couldn't or wouldn't have done any of that alone.

PSA: If you like taking pictures of bumblebees, you should know that you can add sightings to the bumblebee watch project that aims to track bee populations in different areas. https://www.bumblebeewatch.org/

Currently this is limited to North America

Here's a picture of some little cuties before a storm. There were so many bees up by Lake Superior, and it made me very happy to encounter all the sky puppers.

@h3mmy Bumblebees = <3 .. find some of my shots attached :o)

@Janjira

These are absolutely incredible! And amazing alt text to boot!

I can only hope to get shots half as good as these someday.

@h3mmy Thank you   .. nothing special tbh(in regards of camera and such), taken with a smartphone. You just need a nice spot with big flowers .. they usually are in there for quite some time.
As this thick little Cutie Pies are very relaxed, itยดs also no problem to get really close. Just use manual settings on the phone if possible to get the focus right and you got it :o)
@h3mmy Iโ€™ll have to keep that one in mind! I manage to catch one on occasion, always fun watching them bounce around from flower to flower.

@Serenus
Oh my goodness! Such a plump fuzz butt! ๐Ÿ˜ป   Filling up that pollen basket ๐Ÿฅฐ

It is fun just watching them bounce around and work. I also like it when they take little naps in flowers. Sometimes they'll cuddle another bumblebee and I have to hold in a squee to not disrupt it
