Kidical Mass Bath - Halloween

Causes event in Bath, United Kingdom by Kidical Mass Cycle Rides - Bath on Saturday, November 2 2024

I’ve been out and about in #Walcot with councillor Joanna Wright, @saskia and other @bathnesgreens activists talking to residents. It was great to hear so much positivity - people really want change and know that the Greens are offering something different #votegreen

Woo! There was a right of way dispute near me for some time.

The owner had totally blocked off access to walk down to the river, that got contested and he had to move his fence across.

But he built a fence across the end of the path so you could up to the river but not get in, sort of ending up in a fenced in cul-de-sac. Very mean spirited.

Now that has been overturned too! πŸ€—πŸ₯³

Thanks @saskia πŸ‘

Bath and NE Somerset Green Party | Green Councillor Saskia Heijltjes Calls For Better Climate Emergency Scrutiny At BaNES Council

B&NES Council has failed to produce any agenda papers for its latest scrutiny meeting. Greens demand better.

I champion every aspect of defending and improving our environment because everything we do now will have serious consequences for young people, for the rest of their lives.
#ClimateEmergency

I am keeping a close eye on the BANES Lib Dem plans to create safer and cleaner transport options.

As Bicycle Mayor of Bath I may be known for my passion for safe #cycling infrastructure, but I am also an active campaigner for better #walking provision, including pavements, and better bus services through WESTACT and the Reclaim our Buses campaign

I don't consider myself a "young" person, but apparently I am two decades younger than the average councillor in England (data predates this election). https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-65238546

People in different stages of life bring different perspectives!

I will work hard for a fairer, greener Lambridge, and wider Bath and North East Somerset while also trying my best to represent a younger group of residents, including (working) parents, young people and children.

Local elections 2023: Young councillors 'need seat at table'

From low pay to juggling meetings - what's it like to be a young councillor in England?

BBC News

I am very pleased to be part of the #GreenParty group @bathnesgreens on Bath and North East Somerset council and to represent Lambridge, my local community, together with Joanna Wright.

Thank you to everyone who helped with our campaign and to everyone who went out to vote (52.99% turnout; πŸ” in BANES!)

A very special thank you to my amazing children, who are the most important reason I stood as a candidate. They have cheered me on and have helped me deliver (lots of) leaflets!

Woohoo just voted (local council elections).

I don't really think our half baked democratic system is going to deliver some magic system change on a plate, that's on all of us... wherever we apply our energies.

I do appreciate the efforts people make to work within our existing political institutions and was happy to vote for the green party, even though I'm unlikely totally aligned there.

Plus how could I not vote for someone who joined fediverse πŸ˜„ thanks @saskia !

Help us stop LIDL’s plans to build a second #Bath supermarket on the unspoilt green meadow next to the Lambridge Training Ground.

The meadow is a haven for wildlife, including many protected species such as European beavers, otters, badgers, bats, and kingfishers.

Join us on Saturday 29th April at 11 am in #Larkhall Square come and show your support for wildlife and clean air. We will be taking a β€œTrolley Load of Reasons” to the site to say why we must Protect this Wildlife Haven.
