I drove down to Oregon this past weekend and stopped by Multnomah Falls in the Columbia River Gorge.

I was amazed at how tall the falls were. The bridge gives the scene scale, but standing below the falls is what really makes you feel its height. You have to look way up to see the top.

I felt small in the best way. The sound of the water, the height of the cliffs, and the bridge tucked between the two drops made the scene feel bigger than a photo can really show.

πŸ˜‚ So, we just went into a small restaurant that only has about eight tables. Something seemed a bit off. The host came up to us and said they had a momentary power outage, and even though the power had come back on, the Wifi didn't, which means their ordering/payment system was off line, so they couldn't seat anyone.

I said, "What if I paid in cash?"

"We can't open the cash drawer."

"What if I paid the exact amount?"

"We still can't place orders. We can't communicate with the kitchen."

I’ve been using inMotion hosting for ages. May not be the cheapest, but solid people/servers. My domains are all registered at Pair Domains. Again, likely not the cheapest but they have been around forever and are super reliable.

Regardless of who you use, keep your hosting and registrar separate. Some offer both, but if your hosting goes sideways for some reason, it’s nice to be able to switch the host without having to mess with the domain registration as well.
