Bei #MeshTastic ist jedes Gerät auch ein Repeater. Wenn man als Gruppe in der Wildnis wandert, ist das optimal. Allerdings braucht es recht viel Bandbreite, wenn die Anzahl der Geräte steigt.
Bei #MeshCore gibt es feste Repeater. Die sind quasistationär an Stellen mit guten Empfang positioniert und lernen Verbindungen zu anderen Repeatern. Dadurch werden Nachrichten weniger oft wiederholt, das Band bleibt freier und Nachrichten können schneller gesendet werden.

@wurzl_sepp @juergen wo in Mittelhessen? Bin aus Gi und werde was starten. Ich dachte an #Meshcore, Hab aber von den lokalen Chaos Community erfahren, dass eher Meshtastic ausgebaut sei..

I'm experimenting with a new layout of #Meshy. The main menu is now vertical in the very left panel which hides when the window gets narrower (can be always evoked). It should still work well on phones. Of course, there are a lot of paper cuts to solve, some elements look out of place or redundant now, but I already like it better than the current layout.

@blackforestmesh Das ist ungünstig, ich kann das Ruhrgebiet nur über 5 Knoten in den Niederlanden errrichen.
Und auch die Verbindung nach England über die Niederlande würde schwierig.

Man kann sowas ja testen, dann müsse es aber mehrheitlicher Narrow Standard für #meshcore werden.

@py2toz @gmc this is pretty important. we have a whole #meshcore community in my area on standard settings with a discord and events schedule. we recently discovered a whole other mesh with a dozen or so nodes that's running on a non-US frequency.

@gmc remember to search the web and check if there's any #meshtastic or #meshcore community already in place in your area. Mesh communities tend to move away from the default settings.
