Although my posts are in English, but being a Bengali & Bangladeshi, I'm interested to post in Bengali as well. Recently got a reminder-warning mail for writing a post in Bengali. Dear #bangla speaking friends, those of you who are looking for clean and beautiful Bangla #fonts can try the new version of "Rupsi Bangla". Its glyph count has almost doubled in the current version. Various inconsistencies and errors have also been found and fixed. And this tireless work has been done by the developer, "Niladri Shekhar Bala". Mastodon shouldn't replace Twitter, much like Twitter didn't replace Tumblr or Tumblr, Facebook or MySpace. These are trends, Mastodon should get popular, but it shouldn't be a replacement.

Twitter still should burn to the ground tho, much like any corporation should burn to the ground.

After the dotcom bust 20 years ago, there was a shift away from attempts to turn the Internet into a portal owned by a single company (AOL, Yahoo, etc) using incompatible and proprietary tech, in favor of open standards.

This spawned a heydey for things like self-hosted blogs, RSS and XMPP powered by Linux. People rejected lock-in and embraced the benefits and freedom open standards brought. Even Big Tech embraced these standards.
