Moving over to DMV.community shortly! If you're anywhere in Virginia, Maryland, or D.C. and you're on one of the big main instances like mastodon.world, mastodon.social, mas.to, etc. I'd encourage you to consider joining your local DMV'ers at any of the regional ones, DMV.community, rva.party, and rvagc.social

I generally love Apple computers and iPhones and all that, but the one thing Apple is absolutely trash about is harassing you with overbearing security prompts anytime you want to install software or change settings.

I DON'T WORK AT THE NSA OR CIA! CHILL! JUST LET ME USE MY COMPUTER!

Today is #TransDayofRemembrance when we honor and remember trans lives taken by violence. How horrifying that a deadly attack upon the LGBTQ+ community in Colorado Springs should occur right before this solemn day.
Hate isn’t born in us. It is taught. It must end.
This starts with our political leaders, who must cease their cynical attacks against our community before another attack occurs.
Call out the hate. Remind them of its consequences. Hold them to account.

Think I'm going to be moving back to a more Virginia-centric instance in the near future. Nothing against the "big three/four" of Mastodon but there's a real appeal in supporting the smaller instances and helping them grow; I didn't quite get that when I first came over here but I've seen a few smaller ones fold from lack of support and I don't want to contribute to that.

@KilleansRow same on iOS. Create a shortcut to http://merrysky.net and you won't have to deal with that. Yahoo Weather is also pretty good, only one ad but it's in the background.

Low pressure just offshore and moving very slowly is going to keep cloud cover around today, which will keep a tight lid on temperatures; highs will struggle to reach 40. Sun returns tomorrow with highs in the upper 40s. #RVA #vawx
