My youngest kid (nonbinary, 18+, years of cafe experience at school cafe, catering certificate) is looking for a Brisbane #BNE hospitality job, anyone know cafes with vacancies where Mx 18 might get #fedihired and not told they only hire MAGA-face Stepford Servers? (Their longterm goal is furniture making if you happen to have any leads on *that*) <3

If you know someone in Poland who wants to work a remote Operations job following break/fix runbooks on thousands of Linux hosts, I'm hiring...

Just saw a billboard for an estate agent saying they "extract" the "best possible returns" for their clients.

That's definitely how it felt. Kudos for truth in advertising.

Ever wanted to use SSH to connect to an embedded Linux system over the serial port instead of suffering through some janky login program that supports very limited terminal features?

Top neuroscientist slams AFL move to back new headgear

The AFL has backed a new helmet that aims to reduce the risk of concussion, but a top neuroscientist is calling it "bad scientific practice".

Just saw my first real MTP cable.

One fibre not enough? How about 12?

This Easter, I’m paying my respects to Mr Jones, my primary school teacher who broke the school’s rules to let my friends and I mess with an ancient Apple IIe while the rest of the class did religion studies.

School policy at the time was to prevent secular kids from doing anything productive, lest we β€œget a leg up” on our peers.

(When my mum was first diagnosed, he was also the kindest person ever, because of course he was).

Wishing him all the best, wherever he is! I’m back there with him today typing on my current Apple IIe. β™‘
