One Dancing XP Guy Found a Fix to Dark Agile – Are You Ready to Follow? | Agile Tech Talks

An epiphany of an XP developer resulted in a new way of working and sparked a movement. Tired of dark Agile, endless meetings, and lip service to autonomy, he and his team found a way to put self-organization back into Agile.

Scaled agile is a kind of oxymoron. An object of large mass can't be agile due to the laws of physics. A cruise liner is not #agile. It has too much mass. It takes a much smaller and lighter vessel to achieve agility.

This is how startups are able to disrupt incumbents who have grown fat and slow. They have agility on their side.

If you want to survive in the age of disruption, think and act like a startup.

At a meetup where I was talking about #FaSTAgile recently, a comment/question came up: "Surely there must be a need for orchestration when the scope and size of a creative endeavour is very large”.
It inspired me to write this blog.

What would/could a workplace look like if we designed it for the 85% - instead of designing it to guard against the few bad apples?

I thought of this idea while sitting through monotonous mandated training on harassment and security videos. Security - send the new employee the dummy phishing emails. If they fail to identify, then they have to do the training. Harassment - start with the questionnaire. If they fail, then they have to do the training.
