@gordonmb @marcoarment @gruber Ah, very useful info. Ok, purchased and I’ll give it a shot!
@gordonmb @marcoarment @gruber This looks cool but... a little concerning that it will also end up passing things like two-factor login codes over to some central database. Granted, maybe that's not super scary since the first factor, my password, isn't compromised but still. And it sure feels like a bad actor could use this in conjuction with a list of leaked passwords on the 'dark web' somewhere...

@marcoarment Also, but seriously, you'd think that if Apple owns the entirety of the iMessage protocol it wouldn't be that hard to allow for some sort of super minimal spam filtering. All I want is:

if bodytext contains
{trump, biden, harris,republicans, democrats, election, donate}
and sender is not in address book
then delete

@SasquatcherGeneral this was happening to me yesterday (a lot) too - been a while since I put my VP on and I don’t remember having this issue before. Something new?
@phlebas @cstross yeah I’m VERY skeptical of this estimate. Feels like Bloomberg making shit up (again).
@gruber PQ3 is cool and all but I’m pretty sure that 99+% of iMessage users would prefer even the most rudimentary spam filtering instead. Maybe someone with a large reach amongst Apple developers could make mention of that… :)

Via @neilhimself on Bluesky, an interesting post from @ronbrinkmann about the potential for comics in the Vision Pro.

I’ve been thinking a good bit about the potential for this, a more dynamic reading experience, like Comixology’s guided view (RIP) but not constrained to the limits of a window.

Separate layers in 3D are a gimmick, granted, but still add a ton. Imagine speech bubbles or SFX set off the page (like in Marvel Snap).

@gruber I sure can't seem to find any info on what people with bifocals should be doing with Vision Pro inserts... is the distance prescription the important one or the near-focus?
