@bert_hubert sometimes it feels like people don't actually want to improve our tech independence. I was reading comments on a Lemmy post talking about peertube and it was so frustrating. They kept whining about how peertube will never be able to replace youtube, making the whole project pointless, and Peertube needs to do more than youtube (neglecting to mention what this extra feature would be). Comments like "Since they posted to YouTube, that tells me all I need to know about peertube."
