Just realized that I’ve been misspelling “mastodon” my whole life.
@alexcox The “more grip from behind” jokes just write themselves.
Greetings, Mastodonians. As the kids say, “it’s been a minute, huh?” I realized that I still needed a microphone into the ether to vent frustrations, and since X (née Twitter) has become its own tar pit of crazies and porn accounts, Mastodon it is. Plus, half the people I need to vent about are on Facebook, so I’m just keeping up the façade of funny memes over there as the room burns around me. #thisisfine

Some people believe there's no purpose to "liking" something on Mastodon since it doesn't affect any algorithm.

Not the case.

It does something incredibly valuable: it acknowledges people.

Which is incredibly powerful, and is all the more important *because* it's not connected to gaming any algorithm.

By liking something on Mastodon, you are doing it honestly -- without any agenda at play other than that you like it.

So go ahead. Click that like button for its own sake.

The only thing preventing Trump and Musk running on the same ticket in 2024 is that *neither* of them would accept being the other’s “running mate.”
@chartier One has to wonder if the Twitter shareholders regret their decision to let Elon buy them out? Unless they all dumped their stock as soon as he came on board to take advantage of the early surge, which wouldn’t surprise me.
@gedeonm I’ve also noticed an extreme uptick in sponsored pro-Elon news items and services in my feed.

I just woke to Twitter push notifications on my phone from both TMZ and Elon Musk.

Needless to say I don’t follow these accounts and I don’t have push notifications turned on for either of them. Elon’s getting more and more desperate every day.

Good news! My first *10,000 followers* will be eligible for a special offer from one of my sponsors! Inner voice: that should buy me some time to find some sponsors…
@jenk But what if… and hear me out… it *could*? Narrator: “It can’t”
