Before you install the new #ChatGPT app on iOS, ask yourself: what's the worst thing the maker of the world's greatest bullshit machine could do with this kind of information, and why are they requesting it?

Carolyn Bryant, the woman who got Emmet Till lynched, has died.

Anyone who thinks Emmett Till being lynched in 1955 is ancient history should remember that 18 current members of Congress are older than him and the white woman Carolyn Bryant who got him lynched just *today* died—and that without any accountability whatsoever.

In short, this systemic racism and racial terror against Black people is not ancient history. It's not even history.

It's contemporary reality.

Historians have a word for Germans who joined the Nazi party, not because they hated Jews, but out of a hope for restored patriotism, or a sense of economic anxiety, or a hope to preserve their religious values, or dislike of their opponents, or raw political opportunism, or convenience, or ignorance, or greed. That word is "Nazi."

Historians study their motives, but there is a broad understanding: their motives don’t exonerate them.

Just heard on the radio that it takes a Black person 32% longer, as a pedestrian, to cross the road in America cos motorists are less likely to stop for them.

They are also more likely to be hit by a car if when they do try to cross.

God, America is messed up.

the fascist attorney general of Missouri has set up a tip site for complaints about gender transition, hope it doesn't get spammed by long, fake complaints over and over until he takes it down!

Transgender Center Concerns

Default

It’s happening here in progressive #California too - AB1314 was introduced 2 weeks ago to force schools to notify parents if students are transgender

If passed, it will target our most vulnerable -children- and subject them to trauma and potentially life-threatening danger

Please, if you’re in CA, call/email your Assemblymember and demand they oppose this bill. It takes so little time but it might be the most important thing you do today

1923: Hitler’s coup failed. No real consequences, no changes. 10 years later, he and his co-conspirators took over Germany.

2021: Trump’s coup failed. No real consequences, no changes. 26.5 months later, he is holding hate rallies and his co-conspirators are still in Congress.

To all white + non-Black liberals, progressives + “allies”: Understand the U. S. has ALWAYS been fascist.

You can’t assert “All men are created equal” while concurrently ENSLAVING a fifth of the population- who are considered subhuman.

Facts: There NEVER was a period in the U. S. When Black Americans can say “the good old days.” The U.S. has ALWAYS been divided.

When you express shock at anti-Black racism + racial injustice, then proclaim “This isn’t who we are“ and ”The country is so divided RIGHT NOW“ that proves how effective this nation’s propaganda is.

It’s why true accountings of this nation’s full history (like #the1619project) must be taught + acknowledged.

Yes, these are uncomfortable and hard truths that must be faced for any hope of concrete change to occur.

Please be more sensitive. #antiracism #racism #equality #Justice

If you haven't seen the Washington Post's front page story and additional coverage based on a randomized national survey they comissioned on trans people in America, you need to.
