It's all about the cake. Everything else is just staying alive.

But while staying alive there is also mountaineering, beer, endurance motor racing, border collies, beer, cycling, cricket, all that important stuff that we need to be doing like revolutionising politics, dealing with climate disaster, and addressing social inequality. And cake and beer.

@flippingpages One bear town innit.

Updating my topo #maps on my various #Garmin devices which is never a small task. Even bigger this time as I'm including the #California maps in prep for my High Sierra Trail #hike next year.

I love the maps that Martin produces over at https://talkytoaster.me.uk from the standard OSM maps. They look great, more detail than standard UK #ordanancesurvey maps, updated on a regular basis, and are painfully cheap compared to the alternatives. Highly recommended.

Getting started with that #weirdcarmastodon stuff right here
@karlderkaefer As someone who loves a good stack of wood for it's structural integrity, that is without a doubt a brilliant stack of wood for so many more reasons.
Been a day of almost entirely email based work which was not much fun. I did manage to grab a #run at lunch while it was almost sunny outside and did the most contrived route imaginable... But as any #Boosh fan knows, distance is its own reward.
Reposting this now that I have more followers! A bit of my research on women and #hops and #beer in 19th century Wisconsin. https://www.goodbeerhunting.com/blog/2021/2/23/fields-of-calico-the-rise-and-fall-of-wisconsins-19th-century-hop-industry 🍻🌿
@Sbectol @danrd University instances all about control, that I can agree with though!

@Sbectol @danrd I don't think it's about #moderation (either here or there) although (most) brands might like to imply it is when it suits. It's eyeballs, a number game, as is them 'caring' about moderation.

I imagine that (most) brands will always follow the sales just as capitalism will always screw the poor. It's just built in to the system.

*(Most) because some brands are based on ethics first in order to sell specifically to (global comparative) rich people who can afford to have them.

@herr_joy Oh that thumbs up just makes that shot to die for!

Some #classiccar (and bike) photos shot in #Bombay in early 2022. What do you think?
